Run Away

It is normal for someone who is in trouble and feel like want to run away from everything. Don’t be afraid to feel this way. Don’t be intimidated that you are an irresponsible person by feeling like that.

Everytime the burden of my problem feel so obvious, I used to feel the same. I used to daydream, and by daydreaming I feel free from it.

This week, God taught me that being in a problem is good. God is “good”. The “good” is not just an adjective about God. It is also telling us a noun. God is good, and every good thing is in Him.

When you feel like want to run away from a situation, but you can’t go any where, and God seems like letting you stay there. Remember this thing, He wants you to be there to be a part of His miraculous work. Be strong. Pray continuously. He won’t let you down. He is with you, go through everything in life. God bless you.

Whatever you do, FINISH WELL!

“Listen carefully! Whatever you feel, whatever you think; whatever you do: FINISH it WELL!”

I do not know who is the creator of that statement, but I clearly remember the moment I hear it from a preacher. Thank you for sharing, Pastor! It helps me to go through this journey 🙂

This writing will be telling you about my six months internship experience, and how God worked on it.

I make it to be my reading someday and to remind me of wonderful past days.

This also to show my warmest gratitude to the Lord who sent me to InterMatrix Communications and to InterMatrix Communications (IMX) who willingly accept me as an intern. 😀

Internship is a requirement from my campus before entering the semester of thesis. This is why I struggled to do an internship in the best place, coz I won’t waste my time.

Ok, anddd.. here the story goes 😛

Somedays on August – October 2011 –> Days of Hunting and Interviews!

“God, please please please, I want this company! Really want this company!”

I was praying for one big company to do my internship. The company where some of President University students also pray for. I was crazy about it till one day a senior told me this “You know what I got from them? Nothing, but a certificate!”

God gives what we need, not what we want. He knew I want that company but He is more understand that I do not need a plain certificate 😛 Then.. He lead me to something bigger…

The idea of applying to IMX was not from my own desire. A good friend, Inri, who forced me to apply to IMX. She has no reason why she did this, but she did it anyway. There are many PR Agencies, but why IMX? Ahh well, in short, I followed her anyway 😛

Applying done. Interview done. I’m accepted, but was still questioning, am I in the right path, God?

January 3, 2012 – July 3, 2012 –> INTERNSHIP!

There were moments of confusion, exhaustion, excitement, and dissapoinment. 

I was asking for experience, but when seniors gave me a lot things to do, I grumbled…silently 🙂 hehe. There, God gently remind me through 1 Cor 13:11 : “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.” This verse gives an understanding for me that the tasks given is the suitable “food” for me coz I’m no longer a child. Thus, I have to put the ways of childhood (grumbling) behind me.

There was a moment when I was afraid to learn more.

The deeper the lesson, the more effort needed. And if someone is afraid to learn more, he is actually not afraid, he is just faineant. And, it was me. I was faineant. I was “afraid” when IMX gave an opportunity for me to do radio interview with Wimar Witoelar, a former presidential spokesman, who is also the owner of IMX. Couldn’t thank God enough, if He is not with me, I wouldn’t say “yes” to that precious challenge.

One night, God lead me to this verse: “The sluggard’s craving will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work.” – Proverb 21 : 25. I desire to be a news anchor, and this challenge is a rare opportunity! I am just nobody. I am just an ordinary student. Who am I to interview a great person about an important topic? If I refuse to learn, I kill my desire.

There were moments when I felt alone and sad.

“You are s***!”, someone said. He might be kidding saying it to me. But it hurts me. Nobody likes to be treated rudely. I don’t like to hear people saying rude words. In the end, I thank God for making me used to it. There are many kinds of people characteristic, and I will not find good characteristic only. I also have to get used to bad characteristic.

Learning about Honesty from “Vicky Donor”

Several days ago, I went to the cinema and watched Vicky Donor. It is a Bollywood movie. The movie was great. It serves the audience with good acting, sweet songs, wonderful dancing, and incredible plot.

The film was about a man; named Vicky (starred by Ayushmann Khurrana), who becomes a sperm donor. Initially, he did not agree with sperm donor because for him, “producing” sperm needs love. Totally agree with you, Vicky. Unfortunately, he finally agreed to do sperm donor because he needs money and Dr. Chaddha (starred by Annu Kapoor) kept persuading him to do it.

Regardless of the pros and cons of sperm donor, this film brings good value to be noted.

BE HONEST

There was a scene when Vicky and his girlfriend, Ashima (starred by Yami Gautam), agreed to get marry. Before they get marry, Ashima told the truth to Vicky that she is a widow. She wanted the marriage to be started with pureness. No lies.  Different from Ashima, Vicky did not tell her the truth that he is a sperm donor. He was afraid Ashima will be disappointed and might left him.

In short, they got married. Problem came. They can’t have baby. They went to many doctors but never success. Ashima wondered, was it she or Vicky the one that be the problem. All this time, only Ashima got tested by the doctors. She was angry and questioned Vicky, is he fertile or not. She asked Vicky to be tested as well. Vicky refused. Finally, Vicky honestly told Ashima he is fertile and it can be proved by successful sperm he had donor.

If you were Ashima, what do you think about your spouse who deceived to you? What will you feel about him/her?

For me, personally, it taught me to be honest about ourselves. As God taught us to be honest to Him, He wants us to be honest to everyone. Whether you realize or not, being honest is a very good thing, and it will not bring you to a gap of problem. Moreover, God promises us that we will be healed when we are honest, when we confess our sins to each other.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” – James 5:16 NIV

Three Types of Human

There are three types of human:

1. The Fool Why do they defined as fool? For instance, when someone ask “Hey, you should try to smoke. Smoking is fun! Really”. The fool doesn’t think twice and realize the danger of smoking.

Then the fool replies “Ok! I’ll try!”

2. The Clever

Different from The Fool, The Clever thinks first. “Oh, is smoking really fun? Hmm, but it contains dangerous substance. Hmm.”

But finally he replies “Ok, I should try to know whether it is dangerous or not”

3. The Wise

Almost the same as The Clever. The Wise knows that smoking is dangerous. But the difference between The Wise and The Clever is, he doesn’t have to experience smoking to convince himself about what he already knows.

Then The Wise replies, “no, thank you”.

Biak – The Paradise

Have you ever heard about Bali?

People often identify Indonesia as Bali. Whenever I mention Indonesia to anyone from abroad, they often relate it to Bali. Bali Bali and Bali. Hmm,do you know that actually there is also a sweet island like Bali in Indonesia?

This island is named Biak. It is located in Papua. Different to Bali, Biak is more natural. You will not find executive  boutique or luxurious cafe in Biak. The only thing you’ll find in Biak is its natural beauty. 🙂

I lived in Biak for about fourteen years. And now I miss it so much. Through this writing, I’d like to show you a little about Biak. a simple motivation

“Bro and Sis, there will be friends to support us to achieve all the vision, missions, and goals we made for 2012. But, don’t forget there always be people who will (indirectly) inhibit those resolutions. Thus, beware! Remember, bad company corrupts good character.”

An SMS came. It was from Stevanus (Ste). We serve together in Community Of Love (Christian Community at our campus). He often forward motivation message like this to me and friends. I like it. I can feel the positive spirit through the message.

In the other day, he sent…

“Bro and Sis, one thing that will help us to improve is to be around smart and good people. And then, we have to be better and smarter each day. For instance, Agnes Monica. She said, everyday she has to do something new. Something better. Imagine, if in a month we do this way, we’ll got at least 30 new and better things. That will make us improved. Use the talents we got. Improve it.“

I received this message when I was going to go to office. It was my first day to be in the office and work there. I specially wanted to thank Stevanus for this message. It encouraged me so much. I replied to him and said “Thanks so much, Ste. It’s like a reminder and warm blessing. Gbu”

Because of the message, I promised my self to do or get something new today, at the office. I do not want my day to be not counted.

It worked! I learnt a lot. I am satisfied. I thanked God for reminding me and encouraged me through this person.

The next day, Ste sent another motivational message.

“Bro and Sis, any progress that will happen to us is like a tidal wave. If we just stand up, we surely will drift. So, how to be at the top? We have to keep moving. Never lost in any situation. Beware! Don’t ever pensive. Stay alert no matter what. Keep your fire up!“

Wooh, I almost drift today. What I got yesterdey, the satisfaction I got yesterday, may sweep me over, if I’m not aware. I might run today in common way. With no passion. Thank God, He reminded me again by this  message. Keep the fire up!

Today, the message Ste sent was:

“Bro and Sis, anxiety is discontent, and this dissatisfaction is the MAIN requirement to achieve progress. Mention someone who is easy to satisfy. If you pay attention to the person, you’ll see failure will quickly appear. So, do not be easy to satisfy, keep going up!”

I did not really agree with “do not be easy to satisfy”, because sometimes we also need the feeling of satisfaction to let our body rest. Then I figure out, it is true to be not easy to satisfy. We may feel satisfy for awhile. Let our soul and body rest, for awhile. But then, wake up and set another progression goals.

Through this writing, besides motivation, I also got another thing to share, that we have to encourage each other. Everyone surround us, encourage them. A good word will bring a good effect. Like this simple motivation, may bring a good effect to you too 🙂

The new year is coming.  It is time to introspect the passing year.  It is also time to make a resolution to the coming year.

There might be some people who afraid to make resolution(s). They might have no enough confidence to enter the new year. Don’t worry. Just like the song above (Life is Like a Mountain Railroad) says, our Almighty God is loyal and faithful. He won’t leave us until we reach that “blissful shore”. In Him alone is our confidence.

Special Creation

Do you ever think to be like physically someone else? You want their body shape or hair style or whatever it is?

A couple days ago, I went to a salon. My original hair is wave and I wanted to do a treatement to make it straight. One thought in my mind was if my hair is straight I will be as cool as Ms.X (an actor I like). I was so excited to do the treatment. I kept smiling while the hairdresser worked on my hair.

And then… tadaaa… the hair is totally super straight, and I am also totally surprised. The looking was totally bad. Everything is totally messed up. I am not suitable with this style, in fact.  Before I decided to do this treatment, some people said the straight hair will fit me. Again, in fact, it’s not.

So, I came back with a sadness of my own stupidity. God gave me a beautiful wave hair, why should I change it? He is the creator overall. He knew and will always know the best for His creation.

I realized I was wrong, and nothing I can do but waiting patiently until the medicine is used up and the hair back to its original shape. FYI, it needs eight months to get it to the original shape.

However, I learnt something from this experience.

It makes me realize, whatever our physics look like, God has created it SPECIAL. The next step is our decision, whether to treat our body right or bad. Tall and short, black and white, straight hair and curly hair, all are a gift to the world, a divine work of art, signed by God.

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous – how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!” (Ps. 139:13-17)

Can you see how deep His love is when He created us? So now, let us treat our body right. Take care of the body He gave. Additionally, do not forget to eat healthy food and do exercises also 🙂
